National School Backpack Awareness Day

AOTA’s National School Backpack Awareness Day

September 20, 2017

The AOTA’s National School Backpack Awareness Day™ provides us with the opportunity to demonstrate the value of our services in promoting health to school-aged students. The 2010 campaign expanded the target audience to include persons across the lifespan, because we saw that parents, grandparents, and other caregivers could be great role models for children in selecting the appropriate way to transport things they use for work or for school.

Check out what OTD students at Boston University are doing to promote Backpack Safety at a local school. They will be providing an elementary school with a live performance and games inspired by the movie Trolls to teach them about backpack safety.

Will you be hosting an event? If so, we would love to know. Please tag us on Instagram and Twitter (@promotingOT).
